I am very pleased with the FireWire 800 connection as well as the Mini DisplayPort which added the ability to output digital audio not available on my previous model MBP which only supported DVI. My only complaint is that the two USB ports are a little bit too close together making it impossible to connect two large thumb drives at the same time. I find having all of the connections on one side makes hooking up to external devices much cleaner and more manageable.
The larger trackpad w/ multi finger touch and sleeker design are also a plus. I upgraded from an earlier model MacBook Pro with a coreduo proc essor that was not able to keep up and would crash during heavy processing tasks.
